Pakistan skipper Shan Masood slams journalist for ‘disrespectful’ comment after Windies loss
Masood responded strongly after the journalist asked him whether he’ll step down as a leader on his own or if PCB will remove him after Windies loss
Pakistan skipper Shan Masood responded strongly after a journalist questioned Pakistan’s recent performances in the post-match press conference after the second Test against West Indies which Pakistan lost. It led to them being last on the World Test Championship table, and asked if Masood would step down himself or if the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) would remove him.
Firstly, Masood just ignored the question in the post-match press conference and asked for the next one. However, before the next question could be asked, he replied in Urdu that the media needs to stop disrespecting the Pakistani players as they play for the nation. He also pointed out that the information given by the journalist was completely inaccurate.
"Your question had too much disrespect. No one here will tolerate this."

“You have your opinion, and I respect that, but there is a lot of disrespect in your question,” Masood said.
“You can’t show disrespect to players, me and the others. We all play for Pakistan and get results but no one will tolerate such disrespect. You have to understand that. You want to put someone down fine but we all are Pakistan players. We all play for the star [on Pakistan’s flag].”
Masood also defended his team, saying that despite all the criticism, his team has won three out of the last four Test matches.
“You have to understand and appreciate that we are trying to do something different, and you must study that. Anyone can google something but we are trying to do something and we have won three out of the last four Tests at home,” Masood said.
Pakistan lost the second Test by 120 runs as Jomel Warrican claimed 5/27 and became the Player of the Series with 19 scalps in two Tests. The series was level 1-1 as Pakistan slipped to ninth (last) on the World Test Championship table.
