“Why should batters have all the fun..” - Bishnoi reveals how he unknowingly manifested his crucial Chepauk knock

Bishnoi hit two crucial boundaries in the dying hours of the game, which helped India home in a nail-biting finish

Ravi Bishnoi is not known for his batting, but on January 25, he posted on his Instagram a reel where he is coming off a batting session and he added the caption, “Why should batters have all the fun.”

Little did he knew then that it would be his chance to have fun with the bat, not just in nets, but also in the middle. With the help of his two boundaries, he would take India home in Chepauk, allowing Tilak Varma to do his job from the other end.

India had only two wickets left when Bishnoi came to crease, and he batted with a lot of responsibility and also opened up his arms when given the opportunity to whack the ball. He collected two boundaries in his nine crucial runs for India, as Tilak finished the chase in the last over.

Speaking after the match, Bishnoi revealed how he unknowingly manifested his batting effort.

“He [Tilak] was set and I did not want to play a rash shot because we had less wickets in hand. Today only I posted a reel on Instagram, saying why should batters have all the fun,” Bishnoi said.

“When slip came in, I knew he would try and dismiss me with legspin. But I hit him with the spin for four.”

Bishnoi dealt with Liam Livingstone’s penultimate over quite well, and only six runs were needed in the last over, which Tilak collected with ease. Bishnoi called it one of his best T20 knocks.

“Tilak's one of the best T20 innings. There were big names in the opposition. He is doing this from South Africa, did well in domestic as well,” Bishnoi said.

He ended the interview cheekily indicating that his next reel might be about his batting.
