WATCH: Haris Rauf Pulls Off UNBELIEVABLE Catch Against New Zealand
Rauf caught a gem of a one-handed catch at fine leg in the first over of New Zealand’s innings in Auckland
Pakistan are currently involved in a T20I series on a tour of New Zealand and have already lost the first two games of the five-match T20I series.
However, they started on a really positive note in the third T20I, as pacer Haris Rauf pulled off a stunning catch at fine leg in the first over of the game, setting the tone for Pakistan to follow in the game.
It was Shaheen Afridi’s fifth delivery of the first over to Finn Allen, and it was pitched up to get some swing. However, the ball went down with the angle and Allen whipped it off his toes to get a fine boundary. The ball flew towards Rauf, stationed at the short fine leg. The express pacer leapt in the air with his right hand outstretched and pulled off a brilliant reflex catch to dismiss Allen.
The catch certainly seemed to have pumped up Rauf. He bowled his four overs for just 29 runs and picked three scalps, including that of Tim Seifert and skipper Michael Bracewell. However, New Zealand could only manage 204 on a flat Eden Park wicket.
At the time of writing this, Pakistan openers had given the visiting side a brilliant start in the chase in Auckland and are batting quicker than the required run rate. After 11 overs they are at 135/1.
