Team India Superstar Fetches Just ₹6 Lakh At TNPL 2025 Auction

Team India superstar Washington Sundar, who will represent the Indian side at the 2025 Champions Trophy in a week’s time, was purchased for just ₹6 lakh at the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) 2025 auction earlier today.

Sundar, who was bought for ₹3.20 cr at the IPL 2025 mega auction, was nowhere close to being one of the costliest buys on the day as Trichy Grand Cholas snapped him up for just ₹6 lakh. In fact, Sundar was not even Trichy’s most expensive buy, with Mukilesh U (₹17.60 L), Saravana Kumar P (₹8.40 L) and Kousik J (₹8 L) all fetching bigger amounts.

But while Sundar did not fetch a great price, his Tamil Nadu teammate and Chennai Super Kings star Vijay Shankar was one of the top buys, with Chepauk Super Gillies buying the veteran for ₹ 18.00 L.

Shankar’s CSK teammate Andre Siddarth, meanwhile, was snapped up by Lyca Kovai Kings for ₹ 8.40 L.

All-rounder Mohammed M proved to be the most expensive buy on the day, with the Salem Spartans purchasing him for ₹18.40 L.
