Tanzim fined 15% of his match fee after Paudel altercation

Bangladesh’s pacer Tanzim Hasan Sakib has been fined 15% of his match fee for his altercation during the Nepal clash

Bangladesh’s next big thing, Tanzim Hasan Sakib, has been fined 15% of his match fee for breaching Level 1 of ICC’s Code of Conduct. The Bangladeshi pacer was seen having an altercation with Nepal’s Rohit Paudel during Bangladesh’s 21-run win over the fellow Asian side on June 16.

During the third over of the run chase, Tanzim charged towards Paudel, with the ICC reporting the incident as “walked towards Nepal batter Rohit Paudel in an aggressive manner and made inappropriate physical contact". Eventually, it was Tanzim who had the better of the Nepal's captain, dismissing him for a six-ball one.

In the video posted by ICC, the pacer is captured saying, “What happened?” as he charges aggressively towards Paudel. Tanzim breached Article 2.12 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel with his actions in the clash.

Additionally, one demerit point has been added to Tanzim’s record, marking his first disciplinary action in the last 24 months. According to the ICC’s release, the charges were levelled by on-field umpires Ahsan Raza and Nogajski, along with third umpire Jayaraman Madanagopal and fourth umpire Kumar Dharmasena.
