South Africa's Sensational 18-Year-Old SMASHES FIVE SIXES IN A ROW
Lhuan-dre Pretorius smashed five consecutive sixes off Senuran Muthusamy’s over on March 2
Lhuan-dre Pretorius’ stocks aren’t declining any moment, as the teenage sensation smashed Senuran Muthusamy for five consecutive sixes against Warriors on March 2 (Sunday). The left-hander picked up from where he left against the Western Province, where he smashed a 96-ball 120, smashing 11 fours and seven sixes.
Pretorius also broke the age-old record of smashing the fastest century in Titans’ history, surpassing former South African all-rounder Farhaan Behardien’s record. The left-hander got to that mark off just 61 balls, smashing his second consecutive century in the 50-over format. Pretorius smashed five sixes in the 17th over of the innings, with four sixes down the ground, and one over square-leg region.
The left-hander smashed with 11 fours and seven sixes during his course to a second List-A century. However, the left-hander got out for 107 off 69 balls but ensured that the Titans had got themselves off to a stunning start with a 227-run partnership.
Pretorius, who has already drawn comparisons to Quinton de Kock, emerged as one of the breakthrough stars from the SA20 2025 season. Plying his trade for Paarl Royals, the left-hander smashed 397 runs in the season, striking at 166.80 with 47 fours and 16 sixes. While he isn’t yet picked in the IPL, there’s a strong chance that the scouts will be well-noted of his swashbuckling display.
