Nicholas Pooran Joins West Indian Trio In 600 Club For Most T20 Sixes

Before the start of the DC vs LSG IPL 2025 match, Pooran had 599 sixes in his kitty and he hit a total of seven sixes in his 30-ball 75-ball knock

Nicholas Pooran joined a rare group of West Indian cricketers after he smashed the 600th six of his T20 career while playing for Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) against the Delhi Capitals (DC) in an IPL 2025 match on March 24 at the ACA-VDCA Stadium in Visakhapatnam.

Before the start of the match, Pooran had 599 sixes in his kitty and he hit a total of seven sixes in his 30-ball 75, which gave LSG a platform to launch from in the death overs.

Thanks to these sixes, Pooran joined a rare 600 club, which includes a trio of West Indian T20 legends. Only four players have been able to hit 600 or more sixes in the format, the other three being Chris Gayle (1056 sixes), Kieron Pollard (908 sixes) and Andre Russell (733).

Among the active cricketers, Pooran is in second place behind Russell. However, the Trinidad batter has played only 384 matches, compared to Russell’s 539. Pooran currently has 607 sixes in his kitty.

The most sixes by an Indian in the T20 format is by Rohit Sharma, who has hit 525 sixes in his 449 matches.
