Mayank Yadav Injures Toe Kicking The Bed; Pacer’s IPL Return Further Delayed
Yadav was already confirmed to miss the first half of IPL 2025 due to a lumbar stress injury
Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) speedster Mayank Yadav’s return to the Indian Premier League (IPL) has been delayed further due to a freak injury suffered by him, with the pacer injuring his toe while kicking the bed. Yadav was already confirmed to miss the first half of IPL 2025 due to a lumbar stress injury, but his rehabilitation has taken a hit due to the fresh injury he’s picked up.
“Mayank, who everyone was very excited about last year, he was going quite well [recovering from a back injury], and he kicked his toe on the bed,” head coach Justin Langer revealed.
“He got an infection in his toe. It’s put his rehab back about a week or two weeks.”
But Langer was hopeful that the speedster would be back in action for the latter stages of IPL 2025.
“But he’s up and running. We regularly see videos of him bowling. I saw a video of his yesterday. So, hopefully, by the back end of the tournament, Mayank will be up and ready to go for us," Langer said.
LSG have been marred by injuries. Yadav aside, Avesh Khan and Akash Deep are both injured and will miss the side’s season-opener against Delhi Capitals (DC). Meanwhile, Mohsin Khan has been ruled out of IPL 2025 and has already been replaced by Shardul Thakur.
