IPL 2025: Virat Kohli Emulates Rohit Sharma In Special T20 Record

Virat Kohli became the third Indian player to accumulate 400 T20 appearances. He achieved this feat in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season opener between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata. 

In doing so, he joins Rohit Sharma (448) and Dinesh Karthik (412) as the only players to have played 400-plus T20s. 

Out of his 400 T20s, he has played 268 matches for RCB, 127 for India and five for Delhi. 

Kohli is the leading run-getter in the IPL, with over 8,000 runs, with eight tons and 55 fifties. Furthermore, he also has over 4,000 T20 International (T20I) runs for India, with 39 50-plus scores.

Overall, Kohli has 12,886 runs and is just 28 runs away from breaking into the top five run-getters in T20 cricket. After their first game against KKR, RCB will take on Chennai Super Kings (CSK) next on March 28 (Friday).
