IPL 2025: 4 Players Who Have Picked Up Multiple 5-wicket hauls In Indian Premier League

Not many have achieved this unique feat

The Indian Premier League (IPL) has seen many excellent spells of bowling and there will be plenty more in the upcoming season. Picking up a fifer in the IPL is not a common feat, but imagine bowlers who have done it on multiple occasions.

That's what we are going to take a look at here. Only FOUR have managed to pick up a five-wicket haul on multiple occasions in IPL.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar

Bhuvneshwar Kumar represented Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in 2009 and 2010, and returns to the team after he was bought by the team for INR 10.75 crore in the IPL 2025 auction. His first-ever fifer came in 2017, when he finished with 5/19 for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) against Punjab Kings (PBKS) in Hyderabad. Six years later in 2023 he was at it again as he picked up 5/30 against Gujarat Titans (GT) in a losing catch in Ahmedabad.

With 181 wickets in the IPL, Bhuvneshwar has picked up the most wickets for a pacer after Dwayne Bravo (183).

Jasprit Bumrah

Jasprit Bumrah has been Mumbai Indians; (MI) go-to man ever since his debut in 2015. Both his five-wicket hauls came in the last three seasons. The first of it came in 2022 - 5/10 - against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in 2022 and two years later he finished with 5/21 against RCB - both coming in Mumbai.

Bumrah, who has 165 IPL wickets, is expected to miss a few matches at the start as he continues to recover from a back injury he sustained during India's tour of Australia.

Jaydev Unadkat

One of the two left-arm pacers on this list, Jaydev Unadkat, is just one shy of his 100th IPL wicket. The 33-year-old, who is playing in the IPL since 2010, has represented as many as eight franchises so far. He will continue to play for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) this season after the franchise brought him back for his base price of INR 1 crore at the auction.

His two fifers came for two different teams. His first (5/25) one was in 2013 for RCB against Delhi Capitals (DC) in Delhi. His second one came for Rising Pune Supergiants (RPS) against SRH in 2017 in Hyderabad.

James Faulkner

The only overseas player on this list is Australia pacer James Faulkner. Surprised? Faulkner picked up 59 wickets from his 60 IPL matches, turning up for four teams between 2011 and 2017.

He had a stellar season, finishing with 28 scalps, only four behind the Purple Cap winner - Dwayne Bravo.
