The star batter now has the most runs for an Indian batter against England in international cricket

India’s star batter Virat Kohli, on February 12 (Wednesday), broke his idol Sachin Tendulkar’s record during the third ODI against England in Ahmedabad

Kohli now has the most runs for an Indian batter against England in international cricket.

Tendulkar ended his career with 3990 runs in 90 innings against England in international cricket. Meanwhile, Kohli now has over 4000 runs across three formats against the Three Lions. 

Overall, Sir Don Bradman (5028), Allan Border (4850), Steven Smith (4815), Sir Viv Richards (4488) and Ricky Ponting (4141) have more runs against England than Kohli. 

Against England, Kohli has 648 runs in 21 T20I innings @ 38.12, 1991 runs in 50 Test innings @ 42.36 and 1384 runs (at the time of this article being written) in 38 ODI innings @ 41.94.

Kohli’s most international runs against one team have come against Australia - 5393. The right-handed batter is also approaching towards the 14000-run mark in the 50-over format.
