India A Set For Two Four-Day Tour Games Before England Series: Reports
According to Indian Express, India A are set to play at least two four-day fixtures in England after the end of IPL
Ahead of India’s five-match Test series against England, the Indian A team are expected to play two four-day fixtures in England. With the gap between the end of IPL 2025 and the start of India’s long English summer not that much, these shadow tours are expected to make an impact.
India A’s games will be the team’s only preparation before the five-match Test series in June, which is quite different from the previous tours. Earlier, India’s travel to England used to be in August, which gave the team enough time to acclimatize.
According to Indian Express, India A will take on England Lions in a four-day fixture, starting June 4 before an intra-squad match that will precede the first Test. It is also reported that a second four-day fixture between India A and the Lions will take place after the first Test.
A similar pattern was observed during India’s tour to Australia 2024-25, where two A fixtures set the precedent for the first Test in Perth. India will kick-off the tour to England with the first Test in Leeds on June 20.
