WATCH: Abrar Ahmed Leaves Shubman Gill STUNNED With Unplayable Carrom Ball
Lightning struck twice as in the contest against India today, the 26-year-old bowled YET ANOTHER unplayable jaffa
In the curtain-raiser of the 2025 Champions Trophy between Pakistan and New Zealand, it was Abrar Ahmed who opened the account for the hosts with an absolute jaffa that bowled Devon Conway.
Conway, batting on 10, did not expect much turn on a rather flat Karachi wicket, but the left-hander got absolutely bamboozled by a pearler from the leg-spinner.
Well, lightning struck twice as in the contest against India today (February 23) as the 26-year-old bowled YET ANOTHER unplayable jaffa - his second in as many matches.
At 100/1 chasing 242, India were in cruise control of the chase. It came to a point where Pakistan needed a moment of magic to get back into the contest. Abrar obliged and produced a delivery that was nothing but pure magic.
Against the well-set Shubman Gill (46) who was batting like a dream, the leggie delivered an inch-perfect carrom ball that drifted in, pitched on middle and leg, beat the outside edge of the right-hander and crashed into off-stump. The way Gill was batting, it needed an absolute dream delivery to dismiss him, and Abrar did just that.
The reaction from Gill said it all as he was left absolutely STUNNED. Even Virat Kohli, at the non-striker’s end, was impressed with the delivery and gave the Pakistan spinner a nod of approval.
