ICC Champions Trophy 2025: Australia's Probable 11 And Full Squad
Australia are the most affected side in the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy, with plenty of squad changes
Australia’s hopes of winning their third ICC Champions Trophy were dealt with a serious blow when a plethora of their stars either got injured or pulled out of the competition. As many as five players from the first team - Pat Cummins, Marcus Stoinis, Josh Hazlewood, Mitchell Starc and Mitchell Marsh - have all been ruled out of the competition.
It leaves Australia’s bowling attack rather severed, which could be the biggest stinging factor for the Kangaroos at the global event. However, big names missing will provide young talents like Spencer Johnson, Aaron Hardie, Nathan Ellis and Ben Dwarshuis a chance to leave a mark.
One of the steadier points going into the competition will be Australia’s batting, which still has behemoths like Travis Head, Steve Smith, and Marnus Labuschagne. But will this line-up have enough firepower to trouble the favourites and lift the ICC title? That’s the big question when they take on arch-rivals England in their first fixture on February 22 (Saturday).
