How WPL 2025 Points Table, Purple Cap, And Orange Cap Looks After DC’s Win Over UP Warriorz

With their second win, DC have moved to second alongside RCB

Two-time WPL finalists Delhi Capitals continued their rise in WPL 2025 with their second win of the competition. Meg Lanning-led side beat UP Warriorz in a nerve-wracking clash in Vadodara by seven wickets and with a ball to spare to climb up the ladder.

However, it is Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) women who are at the top of the table after the end of first six matches. They have four out of four points after defeating DC in convincing fashion.

In the sixth match, chasing 167, Lanning led DC’s run chase with a 49-ball 69, which drove DC’s wagon before UP Warriorz made a strong comeback.

With 48 off the last five overs, Annabel Sutherland formed a strong partnership alongside Marizanne Kapp (17-ball 29) to take DC home. Unfortunately for the Warriorz, it was their second loss in a row, which leaves them at the bottom of the pile.

Who holds the Orange Cap currently?

Despite Lanning’s 69 against UP, it is her country-mate Ashleigh Gardner who holds the Orange Cap with 141 runs in three encounters.

Gardner averages 70.50 with the bat this year, striking 178.48, with most sixes in this edition (12). However, Nat Sciver-Brunt is close to the Australian all-rounder with 137 runs, four behind.

Smriti Mandhana is still miles behind the duo, with just 90 runs out of her two games.

Who holds the Purple Cap currently?

After his stellar showing against DC, Renuka Singh Thakur was holding the Purple Cap with five wickets, averaging 9.60. However, after Hayley Matthews’ show against Gujarat Giants, the Mumbai all-rounder has equalled Renuka on all metrics.
