Former SRH Captain Lauds CSK's Ravindra For Match-Winning Century In CT 2025

Ravindra smashed his fifth ton in ICC events, following the three in ODI World Cup 2023 and one against Bangladesh in CT 2025

Former Sunrisers Hyderabad and New Zealand captain Kane Williamson lauded the young Kiwi and Chennai Super Kings star Rachin Ravindra for his match-winning century in semi-final of ICC Champions Trophy 2025 against South Africa on January 5 (Wednesday) in Lahore, Pakistan.

“Rachin [is] an incredibly special talent. It's always great to bat with him. He goes out and he puts the team first and he plays with that freedom. When we were out there batting together, there were moments where there were some good spells and it was a little bit challenging. We tried to feed off each other and keep each other focused on the job. He's so gifted, really, really confident, clear in what he's trying to do,” said Williamson.

The duo put on 164 for the second wicket with Ravindra, the highest partnership in Champions Trophy history for New Zealand.

In the semi-final Ravindra hit a ton, taking his ICC Tournament century tally to five, becoming the quickest to that milestone, reaching there in just 13 innings. Williamson, who also scored a century in that game, was mesmerised by Ravindra’s ability to perform at big stages.

“In big tournaments he stood up and shone, and we've seen it here again in this one. Hopefully he can continue that moving forward into this next match,” he said.

New Zealand will take on India in the Final on March 9 in Dubai.
