Ebadot Hossain ruled out of the rest of the Afghanistan series

BCB, however, have confirmed that it is not a major injury. He's expected to recover and be match ready in two weeks time

Bangladesh will miss out on the services of Ebadot Hossain for the remainder of the Afghanistan series. The pacer suffered a knee injury during the second ODI against Afghanistan in Chattogram. The injury occurred while bowling his last over, and he subsequently was unavailable to bat in the second innings.

"The MRI suggests that this is not a major injury. We expect him to recover in about two weeks time. He will remain with the team as he does his rehab," Bangladesh team physiotherapist Muzadded Alpha Sany said in a statement issued by the Bangladesh Cricket Board.

It hasn't been the most ideal World Cup prep for Bangladesh as they lost the first 2 ODIs against Afghanistan, resulting in a rare series loss for the Bangla Tigers. In fact, Saturday's victory made Afghanistan just the second team to beat Bangladesh in a home ODI series in the past seven years. The only other team to do so are the defending champions, England.

The upcoming match on Wednesday, 12th July, will be crucial as Bangladesh look to prevent their first whitewash in a home ODI series in around 10 years.

Post the ODI series, Afghanistan will end their tour with a couple of T20Is in Sylhet on July 14th and 16th.

Earlier, Afghanistan were also dealt a huge blow as their pacer Naveen-ul-Haq also ruled himself out of the T20Is with a knee injury. ACB have already announced the 24 year old pacer Nijat Masood as his replacement.
