DC vs LSG: Mukesh Kumar Suffers On-Field Injury; Leaves Field After Twisting Ankle
Mukesh suffered the injury in the 15th over of the first innings
There was a nasty-looking injury in the clash between Delhi Capitals (DC) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) today in Vizag as DC pacer Mukesh Kumar left the field after twisting his ankle.
Mukesh suffered the injury in the 15th over of the first innings. On the third ball of the 15th over, Mukesh, fielding at square leg, overrun a pull-shot hit by Nicholas Pooran. While attempting to stop the ball - something he managed to do successfully - the speedster ended up twisting his left ankle.
The 31-year-old managed to throw the ball to the wicketkeeper but went down in pain. Soon after, he left the field, still in visible pain, and was attended to by the Capitals physio. Mukesh did not return to bowl again.
Prior to his injury, the right-armer had bowled two overs and had conceded 22 runs. He did, however, take the big wicket of Mitchell Marsh, who, on the night, hammered 72 runs off 36 balls.
DC are yet to provide an official update on Mukesh’s injury.
