In a low-scoring encounter in Guyana, the St Lucia Kings (SLK) eased past Barbados Royals (BR) in Match 22 of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2024. Alzarri Joseph led from the front for the Kings with 4/22, while Roston Chase chipped in with another three. As far as the Royals' batting is concerned, Only Jason Holder (21 off 29) and David Miller (21 off 20) were able to get past 20 in an otherwise poor performance as they could manage just 96 on the board.
Chase also showed off his prowess with the bat, slamming an unbeaten 39 off 38 to take his side home in the 14th over. Faf du Plessis (26) and Tim Seifert (21*) made useful contributions.
With this win, St Lucia Kings have sealed their place in the playoffs with 10 points from seven matches. Like the Kings, the Royals are also through, with 10 points from seven matches.
The two teams face off again on September 22 (Sunday) at the same venue.
