The right-handed opener hit 89 off 40, while skipper Faf du Plessis (43-ball 59) and Tim Seifert (17-ball 30) also made handy contributions. Saint Lucia eventually finished at 218/6 in their 20 overs.
The Knight Riders never got going in the run chase, with Jason Roy (29-ball 41) being the only batter to cross the 30-run mark. Noor Ahmad scalped three wickets, while David Wiese finished with figures of 2/27.
