Corbin Bosch Replaces Anrich Nortje In South Africa's Champions Trophy Squad

Kwena Maphaka, too, has been added to the squad as a travelling reserve

Corbin Bosch has replaced injured pacer Anrich Nortje in South Africa's ICC Champions Trophy 2025 squad, Cricket South Africa (CSA) announced on February 9 (Sunday). Moreover, Kwena Maphaka has been added to the squad as a travelling reserve.

Nortje was ruled out of the eight-team event due to a back injury.  All-rounder Bosch, fast bowler Maphaka, along with batter Tony de Zorzi will depart for Karachi on Sunday, where they will join the squad for the remainder of the Pakistan ODI tri-series.

CSA further announced that former Pakistan all-rounder Yasir Arafat will join the Proteas team as a consultant for the tri-series and the Champions Trophy.

Bosch, 30, made his ODI debut against Pakistan in December 2024, where he picked up a wicket and scored an unbeaten 40. He also played his maiden Test later that month, picking up five wickets and also smashed an unbeaten 81.

South Africa will play New Zealand in the tri-series in Lahore next. They will then begin their Champions Trophy campaign against Afghanistan on February 21 in Karachi.
