Australia To Play Tests in West Indies For First Time In A Decade

This will be Australia’s first Test tour to the West Indies in the last 10 years

Cricket West Indies (CWI) announced the schedule for their national team for the year 2025. They will host Australia for a Test series for the first time since the introduction of the World Test Championship (WTC).

The series will involve three matches which will be played in Barbados, Grenada and Jamaica from June 25 to July 16. This series will also mark Daren Sammy’s first Test series as West Indies’ red-ball coach.

After the start of the WTC in 2019, the West Indies have traveled to Australia twice, in 2022 and 2024. But this will be Australia’s first Test tour to the West Indies in the last 10 years. They last played a two-match Test series in West Indies in 2015 and a three-match series in 2011-12.

The other two Test series that the Men in Maroon will play in 2025 will be away against India and New Zealand. Their tour to the Kiwi nation will be an all-format one. But their schedule for Tests against India has not yet been revealed yet.

The West Indies, having failed to secure ODI World Cup qualification for the first time in 2023, will also have a limited overs tour of the United Kingdom to try and have practice for the World Cup Qualifiers next year. On the UK tour, they will play three ODIs against Ireland. On this tour, they will also play three T20Is each against Ireland and England.
