WATCH: Shaheen Afridi-Matthew Breetzke Involved In Heated Argument
The umpire needed to interfere and separate the two players in the middle of the pitch
Pakistan pacer Shaheen Afridi and Matthew Breetzke were involved in a heated argument during the One-Day International (ODI) tri-series at the National Stadium, Karachi, on February 12 (Wednesday).
Breetzke, who scored 150 on debut in the previous game of the series against New Zealand, hit a delivery from Shaheen to deep square-leg and set off for a single off the last ball of the 27th over. On his way to completing a run, he bumped into Afridi, who was not too pleased.
The duo were then seen exchanging words, and the umpire had to interfere to separate them. It did not end there, the next time they faced off was off the penultimate ball of the 28th over, after the South African batter hit the ball to mid-on and looked to set off for a run.
In doing so, he seemed to run on the pitch, and Afridi, once again, wasn't happy, and he let Breetzke know.
It took a brilliant catch from Salman Agha to end Breetzke's innings for 83 off 84. He was just 17 runs away from being the first-ever player to score a century in his first two ODIs.
