Sachin Tendulkar might be 51 years old and long retired, but the Master Blaster has been turning back the clock in the ongoing International Masters League T20 (IMLT20), producing some of his trademark strokes.
Everyone, in general, associates Tendulkar with the straight drive, but, equally, back in the day, he was also the master of the uppercut. Nobody quite played the uppercut like he did, and nobody quite executed it the way he did. Tendulkar’s uppercut was always a sight for sore eyes as it often caught the opposition side completely off guard.
Well, in the final of the IMLT20 2025 against the West Indies Masters today, Tendulkar once again turned back the clock and produced an incredible uppercut off Jerome Taylor.
Taylor, 11 years younger than Tendulkar and still relatively quick for his age, bowled one short and wide, and the Little Master pounced, delightfully upper-cutting the delivery over the third man region for a six.
Unfortunately for India Masters, Tendulkar’s stay turned out to be a short-lived one as he perished for 25. He got out trying to pull Tino Best for a six.
