South African pacer Marizanne Kapp breathed fire in the WPL 2025 final, uprooting Mumbai Indians’ all-rounder Hayley Matthews’ stumps on March 15 (Saturday). Matthews was always going to be a vital cog for MI, and there was a lot of focus on her again in the final, with Yastika Bhatia struggling.
But Kapp’s brutal delivery, which looked like an outswing, seamed right back into the right-hander, cutting her into half. All that the West Indian all-rounder could do was watch her stumps get shattered as she walked a long way back to the dressing room for a ten-ball three.
It was a rare failure for Matthews and definitely one of the slowest innings of her WPL career. Meanwhile, at the other end, Kapp struck yet again, removing Yastika too, who got out for a 14-ball 8, continuing her poor form.

13.50 - Sabbhineni Meghana (GG, 2023)
13.50 - Sophie Devine (RCB, 2024)
Yastika finished WPL 2025 with just 88 runs in the season, averaging 8.71, the second-lowest for a top-order batter in a WPL edition.
