Over the years, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have unleashed a plethora of young superstars in the Indian Premier League (IPL), and early signs suggest that they might end up unleashing yet another potential superstar in IPL 2025.
25-year-old wicketkeeper batter Luvnith Sisodia was bought by KKR for his base price of 30 lakh at the IPL 2025 mega auction and sizzled in the Knight Riders’ first practice match ahead of IPL 2025, smashing 46 off 24 balls.
At the Eden Gardens on March 15 (Saturday), the left-hander unleashed a flurry of audacious strokes in an intra-squad warm-up game and took a liking to fast bowler Vaibhav Arora, whom he took to the cleaners. Apart from flaying Arora through both the on and off side, Arora also pulled out a cheeky scoop to leave the bowler bamboozled.
A top-order batter from Karnataka, Sisodia, was bought by Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) ahead of IPL 2022 but got injured that season (and got replaced by Rajat Patidar), after which he got released.
He represented Gulbarga Mystics in the 2024 edition of the Maharaja T20 Trophy and smashed 314 runs at an average of 31.40 and a strike rate of 139.55.
He has thus far played nine innings for Karnataka in T20 cricket but has struggled to break through in SMAT, averaging 13.77. Come IPL 2025, KKR might look to employ him as a top-order basher. He could be a potential impact option for the defending champions.
