Ruturaj Gaikwad, Rohit Sharma - Two Captains RCB Own In IPL

Ruturaj Gaikwad, on March 28 (Friday), became the second captain after Rohit Sharma to register two ducks against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the Indian Premier League (IPL). 

The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain, Gaikwad got out for a golden duck against RCB in CSK’s last league game of the IPL 2024, as they were knocked out of the tournament.

Gaikwad, who started the IPL 2025 with a 26-ball 53 against Mumbai Indians (MI), once again scored a duck against RCB, this time at Chepauk.

Coming out to bat at No.3 in the 197-run chase, Gaikwad got a four-ball duck against RCB. The right-hander played three dot balls against Josh Hazlewood and then mistimed a pull straight into the hands of the fielder at deep backward square leg.

Earlier in the over, Hazlewood also dismissed Rahul Tripathi to derail CSK’s run-chase early in the powerplay.
