Hardik Pandya improved his men’s T20I all-rounder rankings by four positions as he moved to the number three spot in the latest update by the International Cricket Council (ICC) on Wednesday, October 9.
Arshdeep Singh on the other hand, entered the top-10 list of the ICC Men’s T20I bowler’s rankings for the first time, jumping eight places from the last week where he was ranked 16th.
Pandya, who was ranked number among the all-rounders in the shortest format after the T20 World Cup 2024, had slipped to the seventh position as he was unable to perform up to his potential during India’s tour of Sri Lanka.
However, in the first match of the three-match series against Bangladesh, the Baroda-born took one wicket and also scored an unbeaten 39 as the team won the match by seven wickets with 49 balls to spare.
Arshdeep, whose previous best ranking had been 13, is the only Indian in the top 10 of the bowler’s list. The Punjab-born is jointly ranked eighth alongside South Africa’s Anrich Nortje. He took three wickets in the first T20I against Bangladesh.
While the bowler’s ranking is topped by Adil Rashid of England, another Englishman Liam Livingstone is at the top of the all-rounders’ charts. Suryakumar Yadav (2nd), Yashasvi Jaiswal (5th) and Ruturaj Gaikwad (9th) are three Indians in the top-10 list of batters by ICC in the shortest format.
