New Zealand add Jacob Duffy to their squad for ODI tri-series in Pakistan
The 30-year-old seamer has been included in the squad as a cover for Lockie Ferguson
New Zealand have added pacer Jacob Duffy to their squad for the ODI tri-series in Pakistan, also involving South Africa, as a cover for Lockie Ferguson. The latter is currently playing for Desert Vipers at the ILT20 2025, which will end on February 10.
The tri-series (February 8-14) will serve as perfect preparation for the 2025 Champions Trophy, starting on February 19. Duffy, however, is one of the reserve players for the 50-over event.
The 30-year-old seamer has 18 wickets in 10 ODIs at an average of 25.94. In three ODIs and as many T20Is against Sri Lanka, Duffy claimed 12 wickets across two formats.
The Black Caps will play Pakistan and South Africa in Lahore on February 8 and 10, respectively. If they qualify, the final will be played in Karachi on February 14.
Mitchell Santner and his men will be involved in the first game of the 2025 Champions Trophy, taking on hosts Pakistan in Karachi on February 19. They are also scheduled to play a warm-up game against Bangladesh on February 16 in Karachi.
