'Lockie Ferguson Will Get Hit Into Indus River' - Former India Captain Trolls PBKS Bowler

Ferguson, bought by PBKS, had an economy of 12.5 in IPL 2024 and 10.6 in IPL 2023

Former India captain Kris Srikkanth ripped into tearaway quick Lockie Ferguson while previewing Punjab Kings ahead of IPL 2025, claiming that the fast bowler will get smashed to smithereens in the upcoming season.

Srikkanth pointed towards the IPL track record of Ferguson, who in 45 matches has taken 46 wickets at a pretty high economy of 8.96. While Ferguson’s economy in IPL 2023 was an eye-watering 12.52, it was still a painfully high 10.63 in IPL 2024 as well.

“Batters will hit Lockie Ferguson into the Indus River. Look at his IPL track record, he has been ripped apart season after season. He is going to get hit everywhere, from Amritsar to the Wagah Border,” Srikkanth said on his YouTube channel, previewing Punjab Kings ahead of IPL 2025.

Srikkanth further claimed that PBKS head coach Ricky Ponting constructed the team by simply buying his ‘mates’, referring to the number of Australians in the squad. The Kings have as many as five Aussies in the squad: Glenn Maxwell, Marcus Stoinis, Aaron Hardie, Josh Inglis and Xavier Bartlett.

“Ricky Ponting has gone and called [to the side] all the Aussies he knows. It’s a full Australian team.”

Speaking further about the calls taken by the PBKS management in the past, Srikkanth said, “Appointing 17 captains in 18 years shows how confused the PBKS management is.”

The former India captain further claimed that PBKS have ‘no chance’ of making it to the top four, despite having IPL 2024-winning captain Shreyas Iyer on their side.
