Langeveldt, Dala ruled out of Sri Lanka tour

The two had positive for Covid-19 a couple of weeks ago

South Africa's bowling coach Charl Langeveldt and paceman Junior Dala have been ruled out from the white-ball tour of Sri Lanka after testing positive for Covid-19 a couple of weeks ago. The two have successfully recovered but the Sri Lankan government is not allowing anyone to enter the country who has tested positive in the last 21 days prior to arrival.

Lutho Sipamla has been named as Dala's replacement. The 23-year-old seamer has played two Tests, five ODIs and nine T20Is and has claimed 17 wickets. Meanwhile, Multiply Titans head coach Mandla Mashimbyi will replace Langeveldt. Mashimbyi recently travelled with the team to West Indies after assistant coach Enoch Nkwe pulled out of the Test leg of the tour due to personal reasons.

South Africa will also be without their batting consultant Jacques Kallis. Justin Sammons has been called up into the management team as a batting consultant. Quinton de Kock (rested), Lungi Ngidi (personal reasons) and David Miller (hamstring injury) also won't feature in the ODI series but will be back for the T20Is.

Proteas are scheduled to play three ODIs and as many T20Is in Sri Lanka in the first half of September. The ODI series will start from September 2, while the T20I series will get underway from September 14.
