IPL 2025 Injury Tracker: Full List Of Players Injured So Far And Their Replacements
While some are already officially out of the tournament, there are a few names whose injury and hence, participation status is still unsure
The 18th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is upon us, and we already have a long list of players who are injured and have been ruled out of the league.
Naturally, these injuries have raised some serious concerns around the squad make up of many of these sides, and their final XI will be affected as a result. Some of the replacements, like Corbin Bosch, have also attracted controversy, with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) sending a notice to Bosch, who was supposed to play the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
Notably, the PSL is clashing with the IPL this year and many more such inter-league player movements might be observed in the upcoming weeks.
However, the biggest questions lie around the likes of Jasprit Bumrah and Mayank Yadav whose injury and recovery status isn’t sure as of now. Let’s see the list of injured players, their replacements, and also those whose status is currently unknown.
Umran Malik (KKR)
The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) selected this speedster from Jammu & Kashmir in 75 Lakh, but the National Cricket Academy (NCA) hasn’t cleared him to play in the IPL. Chetan Sakariya was announced as his replacement.
Allah Ghazanfar (MI)
The Mumbai Indians bought the rising spinner from Afghanistan for ₹4.8 crore in the mega auction, but he has been injured from before the Champions Trophy which he didn’t play. Seeing that he won’t recover in time, MI have already replaced him with Mujeeb Ur Rahman who joined MI for ₹2 crore.
Lizaad Williams (MI)
Fast bowler Lizaad Williams was injured and MI, who bought him for ₹75 Lakh in the auction have already replaced him with another South African Corbin Bosch. Bosch was previously a net bowler for Rajasthan Royals, but will now play for the MI after initially being selected in the PSL as well.
Brydon Carse (SRH)
England fast bowler Carse injured his toe during the Champions Trophy and had to leave that tournament and then later the IPL. SRH who bought him for ₹1 crore in the auction, have replaced him with South African pace bowling allrounder Wiaan Mulder.
Harry Brook (DC)
Brook left the IPL season this year citing his national commitments and lack of time he can devote to the league. The IPL and BCCI have already banned him from participating in the league for the next two years. The Delhi Capitals haven’t announced a replacement for the English batter who they bought in ₹6.25 crore at the auction.
Mohsin Khan (LSG)
Mohsin Khan, a towering left-arm pacer, part of the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), was ruled out on March 23 (Sunday) and the franchise signed Shardul Thakur from the Registered Available Player Pool (RAPP) at his reserve price of INR 2 crore.
“The Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) have named Shardul Thakur as a replacement for left-arm fast bowler Mohsin Khan, who has been ruled out of the 18th season of the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) due to injury,” an IPL press release read.
Players With Unclear Fitness Status
Lucknow Super Giants pacers Mayank Yadav and Avesh Khan are at the top of this list with just rumours available on their current fitness status ahead of the league. The fact that the franchise hasn’t announced any replacements is adding to the suspense.
Meanwhile, Jasprit Bumrah for MI and Lockie Ferguson from Punjab Kings are also recovering from injuries and their participation status is also unclear going in the league.
