Tilak wants 'crispy dosa' from Varun, followed by dinner at Washington's home
The second T20I between India and England will be played in Chennai
India were absolutely ruthless in the opening T20I against England in Kolkata, beating them by seven wickets and 43 deliveries to spare. They have a 1-0 lead in the five-match series, and the action now shifts to Chennai, where they will play the second fixture on January 25 (Saturday).
In Varun Chakravarthy and Washington Sundar, India have two local boys who have played a lot of cricket at Chepauk. And their teammate Tilak Varma has special requests for the two spinners: "There are two players in the team, Varun Chakravarthy and Washington Sundar, for them, I would like to say, Varun I want a crispy dosa for breakfast in the morning and dinner in the evening at Washington's home."
Talking about the experience of playing in Chennai, Tilak added: "The first thing that comes to mind in Chennai is Mahi [Dhoni] bhai, everything comes after that. Mahi bhai and Rajinikanth Sir. Thalaiva!,” said Tilak in a video shared by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on their X.
Chakravarthy was the Player of the Match in the first T20I. The mystery spinner first dismissed Harry Brook and Liam Livingstone in the space of one over and then got rid of England captain Jos Buttler to finish with figures of 3/23.
Chakravarthy has 20 wickets in his last eight T20Is and is excited to play his first international match in Chennai. "Going to Chennai, it'll be my first game for India in Chennai, so I'm excited because my parents will be coming and my family will also be coming to see, so very excited."
