Today, in the semi-final of the Champions Trophy against Australia, Rohit became the most prolific six-hitter in ICC ODI tournament history, going past Chris Gayle as he hit his 65th six.
Rohit entered the Australia game with 64 sixes to his name, level with Gayle. He went past the Universe Boss by smoking Nathan Ellis for a huge maximum in front of square via the pull shot.

Rohit already is the most prolific six-hitter in T20 Internationals (T20I), with 205 sixes to his name. He is, in fact, the only batter in T20I history to have hit over 200 sixes.
However, on the day, despite getting off to a flyer, Rohit eventually departed for 28 off 29 balls, falling LBW to young Cooper Connolly. Rohit was dropped twice, once on 13 and then on 14, but still couldn’t capitalise on the chances.
