Dinesh Karthik Predicts The Difference Maker In India vs Australia CT 2025 Semi-Final
The player has been a game-changer in all the previous big games between the two countries in the last couple of years
Former India wicketkeeper-batter Dinesh Karthik identified the difference between winning and losing for India in their ICC Champions Trophy 2025 clash against Australia on March 4 (Tuesday) in Dubai.
Karthik said it would be Travis Head, as he has troubled the Indians in every big game possible.
“You know, at this point of time, the mental block is more about one player than Australia itself, Travis Headache,” Karthik said on Sky Sports’ cricket podcast with Michael Atherton and Nasser Hussain.
“They will be looking for that wicket because that wicket early will actually make them breathe a lot easier for the rest of the game because the World Test Championship Final, the recently concluded Australia Series, the World Cup Final, you take any big game, he’s actually scored runs. And he’s been the difference between winning and losing,” added the 39-year-old, who was last seen playing in the SA20 2025.
So what could be India’s plan to get him out early? According to Karthik, India may play four spinners, and, in that case, they would look to target Head outside the off-stump channel.
“With Travis Head, it’s very obvious, you know, his strength could easily be his weakness, which is if you bowl outside the off stump, and it swings a bit, he could definitely call, but also he doesn’t back away from slashing at it,” he advised with caution.
