CSK vs RCB: Rusty Virat Kohli Plays The Slowest Knock Of IPL 2025
Virat Kohli scored 31 off 30 deliveries against CSK at Chepauk
The clash between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) today was a highly anticipated one, and the clash began on the right note for Virat Kohli, who just a few overs into the game became the highest run-getter against CSK in IPL history. Kohli overtook Shikhar Dhawan to script history.
However, it turned out to be a forgettable outing for Kohli eventually. Rusty and fidgety, the right-hander struggled immeasurably in the powerplay and managed just 11 runs off the 15 balls he faced in the first six overs.
Kohli could not get going after the powerplay either, and was 16 off 22 balls at the end of the 10th over. But after getting hit on the helmet by a Matheesha Pathirana bouncer, the former RCB skipper woke up and went 6 & 4 in consecutive deliveries. The blow seemed to have stirred Kohli up, and everyone expected the 36-year-old to go up the gears and tear into the CSK bowlers.
However, that never happened. Two overs later, on the first ball of the 13th over bowled by Noor Ahmad, Kohli went for a slog-sweep and ended up getting caught at mid-wicket by Rachin Ravindra. He perished for 31 off 30 balls, and it in turn ended up becoming the slowest knock of IPL 2025.
