BCCI Rewards Indian Team With Cash Prize Of INR 58 Cr For Champions Trophy Win
India remained undefeated throughout their campaign in the 50-over tournament
Members of the Indian cricket team that won the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 will be richer by at least some crores on March 20 (Thursday) than they were on the previous day, as the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced a reward of INR 58 Cr for the senior men’s team today.
Though it is not clear who will get what amount, the BCCI announced it through a press release: “BCCI is delighted to announce a cash reward of INR 58 Crores for Team India following their triumph at the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. This financial recognition honours the players, coaching and support staff, and members of the Men’s Selection Committee."
India remained undefeated throughout their campaign, hosted by Pakistan. But the Indian team played all their matches in Dubai, due to a late rule change by the International Cricket Council (ICC) allowing them to do that.
After winning league-stage matches against Bangladesh, Pakistan and New Zealand, the Men in Blue defeated Australia in the semi-final and New Zealand in the final by four wickets to clinch the trophy.
Announcing the reward, Roger Binny, President of BCCI, said, “Winning back-to-back ICC titles is special, and this reward recognises Team India’s dedication and excellence on the global stage.”
“This was also our second ICC Trophy in 2025, following the ICC U19 Women’s World Cup triumph, and it highlights the strong cricketing ecosystem in place in our country,” he added.
Earlier, BCCI had announced a cash prize of INR 125 Cr after India’s T20 World Cup 2024 triumph.
