Right Then India adds to their tally of Gold Medals in the Asian Games as they complete the double by clinching Gold in both the Men's and Women's categories in Cricket. All you need to do is just switch tabs and join us for some thrilling action from the ongoing ICC CWC 2023. Until next time take care and have a great time ahead.

After winning the toss Indian skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad asked the Afghans to have a bat first. Afghanistan batted not that well and kept losing wickets on a regular basis but credit to a solid 7th wicket partnership between Gulbadin Naib and Shahidullah Kamal of 60 runs being unbeaten at the time of stoppage due to rain meant that the Afghans were on track to score in excess of 130. Shahidullah Kamal batted tremendously for his 49 and Gulbadin Naib contributed 27 runs to the total when rain interrupted with Afghanistan scoring 112 for 5 after 18.2 overs. Bowling from India was good to start off but they lost their way a bit during the depth overs still not letting things go out of their hands completely.

India clinches yet another Gold in the Asian Games 2023 as they stand tall as the winners in the Men's Cricket being the higher-seeded team with the final being called off due to rain.

UPDATE - 2.40 pm IST (9.00 am GMT) - The match has been abandoned due to rain and it is India who wins the gold medal in Asian Games 2023.

UPDATE - 2.20 pm IST (8.40 am GMT) - There is no further update as the rain has started to build up more. The covers are intact and the players have gone off. Also to note that the cut-off time for a 5-over game is set to be 2.48 pm IST (9.18 am GMT) and failing to start play by then would result in India being awarded the Gold Medal as they are the higher ranked team amongst the two finalists. Let's wait for further updates.

UPDATE - 1.55 pm IST (8.25 am GMT) It is still raining at the ground and we may well be in for a shortened game whenever it resumes as we already had a delayed start to this game.

UPDATE - 1.22 pm IST (7.52 am GMT) Slight delay as the ball has lost its shape and the fourth umpire comes in with a new box full of balls for a change of ball. Just when the players were taking their respective field positions again it started to rain again and the umpire has asked for covers as this looked to be a strong drizzle. Stay tuned for any further updates.

Shahbaz Ahmed (3-0-25-1) will bowl the penultimate over.

Slight delay in proceedings as the physio rushes out with the fielder being injured. Washington Sundar seems to have hurt his left hand while trying to collect this one.
