Right then. This Irish win sets up Group B nicely with still one match left each for all four teams. With all teams in with a shout, it will be interesting to see how the rest of the matches in this group pan out. We have more Group B action coming up as West Indies take on Zimbabwe. The first ball is at 1.30 pm IST (8 am GMT). You can switch tabs and follow the action. Cheers.

Andy Balbirnie, the Irish skipper says that it was a pretty special partnership. Feels relieved that they got over the line and hopes that they can now take this momentum to their final group game on Friday against West Indies.

Richie Berrington, the skipper of Scotland says that they were pretty happy with the first innings. Adds that they were good with the ball in the start and got some wickets as well but have to give credit to Ireland to the excellent knock from Curtis. Ends by saying that they will learn from their mistakes and come back stronger.

Curtis Campher wins the Man of the Match award for his match-winning knock of 72 runs of 32 balls. Curtis Campher gets a bit emotional as he says he was struggling a bit after receiving some bad news from his family recently. Mentions that he is really happy that he could help his side. Adds they have gone up the gears and it is starting to come together now.

Stay tuned for the presentation...

Earlier in the innings, Scotland did very well with the blade. It was Michael Jones who stood out with the blade for them and received great support from Richie Berrington and Matthew Cross to get over the 170-run mark. It wasn't a great effort with the ball by Ireland but it proved to be enough as their batters completed the job later on.

Scotland were clinical with the new ball in their defense of a tricky total. Having put Ireland in a miserable position at the end of 10 overs, Scotland let it slip and lost their way with the ball since then. Nothing went their way and eventually suffered defeat from the jaws of victory.

Ireland lost both their openers inside the first five overs in their pursuit of 177. Ireland kept losing wickets at regular intervals and as a result, were reduced to 65-4 at the halfway mark. George Dockrell and Curtis Campher then resurrected the Irish innings and gave their side a new lease of hope. The pair stitched an unbeaten 119-run match-winning partnership. Ireland are still alive in the Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 courtesy of this memorable win.

A tremendous fight back from Ireland. It looked like they were out of the game at one stage but Curtis Campher and George Dockrell showed great grit and determination to get their side over the line. This is the highest ever run chase for Ireland in the T20 World Cup. For once we all thought that 176 would be more than enough. But Ireland have proved it that cricket being called a game of uncertainties is not without any reason.
