Glenn Maxwell IS THE PLAYER OF THE MATCH. He says sometimes the low scores make a good game and it was one of those games. Mentions that they just tried to stay in the game and the Surge went their way and the game turned from there. Adds that they did drop a few catches but they are happy with two points at the end. Closes by saying that Vince was the biggest wicket as he has had a lot of success against them and the side is pumped with their performances off late.

Earlier in the game, the Stars were in a precarious position at 60/4 before Webster and Maxwell joined hands to boost the Stars to a competitive total. Webster anchored the innings while Maxwell played his natural hitting game.

Bowling from the Stars was brilliant a bit off to start with.  After the Sixers took the Surge, the Star's bowlers responded with renewed energy, taking wickets in quick succession to seal a 16-run victory. Mark Stekette was the standout performer with three wickets, while Peter Siddle, Marcus Stoinis, and Usama Mir chipped in with two wickets each.

Sydney Sixers chase of an in-between total got off to a brisk start, despite losing Josh Philippe early. They maintained a good scoring rate until James Vince's departure in the 14th over, which triggered a collapse. Vince top-scored with 53, while Hayden Kerr provided some resistance, but ultimately, the Sixers fell short.

The Sixers were unbeaten until the Stars arrived. Melbourne Stars defend 156 that looked below-par at the midway stage and they have defeated Sydney Sixers by 16 runs.

A brilliant over from Peter Siddle costing just 8 and picking up a key wicket of Ben Dwarshuis in such circumstances leaves the Stars ahead in the contest with 20 needed off the final over.
