JOE BURNS IS THE PLAYER OF THE MATCH! That's all from this game! Brisbane Heat win their second game in a row while Thunder's winning streak comes to an end. On Tuesday, 5th January 2021, Melbourne Renegades go up against Adelaide Strikers. That match will begin at 1845 local (0815 GMT). Join us for that. Until then, cheers and take care.

A tough outing with the ball for the Thunder bowlers. They found it tough to get going against the Heat batting line up that came after them from the get-go. Barring Chris Green, everyone else was on the expensive side. Tanveer Sangha managed to scalp 3 wickets but that came at a very high price, with the youngster going for more than 12 rpo in his 3 overs. McAndrew and Green were the other two bowlers to get into the wickets column. But the green team from Sydney missed the services of Sams who did not take the field due to concussion. His absence was sorely felt and Thunder did not have enough lightning to strike the Brisbane Heat!

Chasing 175, Heat needed a good start and that is what Max Bryant and X-Factor, Chris Lynn provided. The openers got them off to a flier. Once they departed, the returning Joe Burns and Englishman Joe Denly steadied the ship. The two Joe's, dropped from the Test side of their respective countries showed their class in a superb 90-run stand. Both getting to their respective fifties. Both of them could not finish unbeaten but their efforts were good enough for their side to get over the line

A very good performance from the Brisbane Heat and they have won back-to-back games for the first time this season with both coming against the two Sydney sides. Their winning start to 2021 continues and they are well in contention this season.
