Ellyse Perry continued to scale greater heights with the bat, smashing her fourth half-century in Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2025 on March 1 against Delhi Capitals. Perry has been batting on a completely different level alongside Mumbai Indians’ Nat-Sciver Brunt (272) runs, leaving others behind.
After a shocking four-ball duck against Gujarat Giants (GG), her first in the WPL, Perry returned to normalcy with a sizzling half-century. The right-hander’s dazzling display, especially against the left-arm spinner Shree Charani with a six over the long-off region, was sensational.
Perry didn’t leave Minnu Mani either, welcoming her with a massive six off the first ball. In the process, the right-handed batter notched up her eighth WPL half-century, the joint-most alongside fellow Australian batter Meg Lanning.
2023 - Tahlia McGrath (UPW)
2024 - Meg Lanning (DC)
2025 - Ellyse Perry (RCB)
However, what was interesting was that the all-rounder equalled a WPL record, smashing her fourth half-century of the season, which is the joint-most in a season, alongside UP Warriorz’ Tahlia McGrath and Lanning.
