IPL 2025: Krunal Pandya Achieves A First On RCB Debut

Krunal Pandya finished with figures of 3/29 on his Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) debut against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season opener. He accounted for the wickets of Ajinkya Rahane (56), Venkatesh Iyer (6) and Rinku Singh (12) in his four-over spell. The wickets of Rinku and Venkatesh were especially key as it triggered a collapse.
In doing so, he became the first RCB spinner to pick up three wickets in a match since IPL 2022. Before Krunal, only Wanindu Hasaranga picked up three-plus wickets for RCB.

Pandya, who has previously played for Mumbai Indians (MI) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) was bought by RCB for INR 5.75 crore. Pandya has played 128 matches in the IPL and picked up 79 wickets at an economy rate of 7.3
Pandya started his IPL career with MI in 2016 and played for them until 2019. From 2020 onwards, he switched allegiance to LSG, where he stayed until last season.
