All 50 Pakistan Players Go Unsold In The Hundred Draft
It has not been the best of days for the Pakistan team or their players
Every single one of the 50 registered players from Pakistan - 45 men and five women - went unsold in The Hundred draft. Aliya Riaz, Fatima Sana, Yusra Amir, Iram Javed and Jaweria Rauf were the Pakistan Women players who did not find any team, among the men top players like Imad Wasim, Saim Ayub, Shadab Khan, Hasan Ali and Naseem Shah did not find any takers.
Afghanistan spinner Noor Ahmad (Manchester Originals) and New Zealand all-rounder Michael Bracewell (Southern Brave) got the best deals during the draft, worth £200,000, while London Spirit snapped up former Australia opener David Warner for £120,000. The Hundred will begin from August 5 and will go on till August 31.
Pakistan as a team are going through a bit of a downfall. They crashed out of the T20 World Cup 2024 in the group stages, that included a super over loss against thee USA. In the recent Champions Trophy, which they hosted, they failed to win a single game. After losses to New Zealand and India in the first two games, their third match against Bangladesh was washed out.
They will look to bounce against New Zealand in the five-match T20 International (T20I) series, starting March 16 (Sunday).
