Right then, that is it from the game. A convincing victory for the Chepauk Super Gillies. They now move second on the points table. SKM Salem Spartans, on the other hand, have now lost 4 out of their 5 games and are reeling at the bottom of the table. We now have a break on Friday but the TNPL action continues on Saturday, the 20th of July, as we have a game lined up between the Trichy Grand Cholas and the Nellai Royal Kings. The game begins at 7.15 pm IST (1.45 pm GMT) but as you know, our build-up begins much sooner so do join us for the same. Until then, take care, and cheers!

Baba Aparajith is the PLAYER OF THE MATCH for his knock of 41 runs!

Earlier in the game, the Chepauk Super Gillies posted a total of 156 runs! They got off to a shaky start but Baba Aparajith played a crucial innings, scoring 41 runs. He stayed on the crease but was dismissed in the penultimate over. Abhishek Tanwar's late surge with 4 sixes helped them reach a competitive total. The Salem Spartans bowlers maintained control over the game by bowling tight lines and lengths, not allowing the Chepauk Super Gillies batsmen to score freely. Sunny Sandhu and M Poiyamozhi were among the wicket-takers for the Spartans, picking up 2 wickets each.

SKM Salem Spartans' performance appeared lackluster as they struggled to build partnerships in the middle. The partnership of Muhammed Adnan Khan and Robin Bist gave them a slight hope but the required rate was way above and their hopes tumbled once the partnership was broken. Towards the end of their innings, Harish Kumar showcased some good hitting skills, scoring an unbeaten 33 runs off just 14 deliveries. However, his efforts were not enough to rescue the team, as it was too little, too late in the game.

A very convincing win for Chepauk Super Gillies. Their bowlers completely dominated in the beginning. They capitalized on the momentum they had and were very effective with the new ball. The partnership of Robin Bist and Muhammed Adnan Khan proved to be a slight hiccup for them in the middle, but once, the partnership was broken, the Chepauk Super Gillies got the game totally under their control. Rahil Shah and M Silambarasan were brilliant at the death as they took their side over the line with ease. Overall, it was a complete performance with the bat and the ball from the Chepauk Super Gillies.
