Earlier in the day, Saint Lucia Kings made 201 for 6 after batting first on the back of quick-fire 40s from skipper Faf du Plessis and Sean Williams while Johnson Charles, Sikandar Raza, and Roshon Primus, all played handy cameos to take the home side to a huge total. Jason Holder was the pick of the bowlers for Barbados Royals with figures of 4 for 38 while Qais Ahmad chipped in with 2. Saint Lucia Kings were dominant throughout the game and take two crucial points.

Matthew Forde ran havoc through the top order with 3 quick wickets in his opening spell and got the game in control. The rest of the bowlers chipped with one apiece and ended a empathic win in front of the their home crowd. Saint Lucia Kings win by a huge margin of 54 runs and get off the mark in the competition.

An emphatic win for the Saint Lucia Kings here as the Barbados Royals were completely outplayed and never looked in the chase. They lost half their side inside the powerplay and the top order was blown away. Donovon Ferreira with 19 off 12 looked good for a while but perished after the short cameo. Nyeem Young and Joshua Bishop stuck some lusty blows and added 29 for the 10th wicket. Nyeem Young played a valiant knock of 48 off 39 and took his side to a respectable 147 to reduce the margin of defeat.
