That’s it from us for this game. Hope you enjoyed it. Do join us tomorrow i.e 23rd January for the game between Hobart Hurricanes and the Sydney Sixers from the Bellerive Oval in Hobart starting at 1.45 pm IST (8.15 am GMT). But as you all know you can join us early for the build-up. Until then, stay safe and goodbye!

Cameron Bancroft wins the Man of the Match award for his incredible unbeaten knock of 50-ball 95. He says that it turned out to be a pretty good game of cricket at the end. Lauds Sutherland and Finch for their batting effort but he is happy to get across the line. Says that they haven’t had a lot of cricket at Perth so it is important for them to finish well and play the finals in front of the home crowd. It was good to see Kelly and Tye stay fine after their blows and hope they recover soon.

Earlier in the innings, Perth Scorchers were to put to bat first and they made the Renegades regret their decision. Cameron Bancroft played a scintillating knock of 95* runs. He batted through the innings and played a vital role in geting his side to a mammoth total of 212. All the bowlers for Melbourne Renegades were on the expensive side and eventually their batters could not get to the peak of it.

Perth Scorchers take two vital points here. Theirs bowler started off in a wayward fashion, but did really well to tighten the run flow after the Powerplay. Even during the Power Surge, Perth Scorchers were very miserly, as they gave away only 6 runs and took a wicket as well. Matthew Kelly had to be taken off the field as he was struck with the ball on his face via a throw from the deep. Thank goodness he is up and fine. The on-air commentators confirmed that he has neither damaged his jaw nor broken his teeth, he stayed out though going through some concussion test, This gave an opportunity to Peter Hatzoglou to come into the side as a concussion substitue and have a go. Later, it was Andrew Tye who took a gave away 31 runs in the 18th over which got them under slight pressure. But Aaron Hardie and David Payne got them over the line as they held their nerves.

Melbourne Renegades were off to a flier. Shaun Marsh racked up a half-century after coming back into the side off an injury. Although, Aaron Finch joined him a bit to early at the crease, but Marsh himself could not stick around for long after his half-ton. Finch looked a bit scratchy with the way he started the innings, but he has shown that he still has something left in him., as he went went beserk in the death overs. He smacked 76* runs off just 35 balls. Aaron Finch and Will Sutherland built a 84-run stand to keep their side in the hunt, but they fell short by 10 runs eventually.

Perth Scorchers take pole position once again and they clinch those key home finals with this win. Melbourne Renegades gave a good run for their money but could not make it far enough to walk away with some points in their kiity.
