Ashton Turner and Adam Voges have been handed the BBL 12 trophy and the whole team now join them in the celebration with the trophy. Tremendous game of cricket this was and this whole season of the BBL has been fantastic. It has been a pleasure to bring you all the coverage of the BBL 12. The cricketing action continues around the world. So, you can switch tabs and enjoy this beautiful game of cricket. Cheers!

Jimmy Peirson, the skipper of Brisbane Heat says that the crowd was amazing with over 50,000 people and congratulates Perth Scorchers and says that they have been the best team and they deserved to win. Thanks his teammates and says that they have come a long way and they played some great cricket and would come back stronger in the next season.

Ashton Turner, the skipper of Perth Scorchers is the PLAYER OF THE MATCH. He says that it is a surreal feeling and he has played cricket for long time but to do it in front of a full capacity home crowd is special. Tells that they had many players in form and that does not always happen in T20 cricket. Mentions that they knew they can win from any moment and energy on the bench was nuts when Cooper Connolly started hitting them.

Time for the Presentation.

Cooper Connolly is in for a quick chat. He says it is a dream come true when they have a huge crowd behind them. Adds that he had complete faith in himself and that everyone advised him to maintain a strong foundation. Ends by saying that they are going to celebrate the win and enjoy the moment.

Brisbane Heat, on the other hand, did most of the things right in this final. They decided to bat first and put up a decent total on the board courtesy of some handy cameos by Max Bryant, Brown and Nathan McSweeney. They followed it up with a spirited bowling performance too and at one point it looked like they would pull off a memorable win here when they got two wickets in the 17th over. However, the 18th over from Bazley cost them and then the experienced Neser crumbled under pressure as Heat have ended as the runners-up of this BBL 12. They played some brillant cricket this season especially at the backend and should be proud of their effort here.

Perth Scorchers were asked to bowl first by Brisbane Heat and were put under pressure early by Josh Brown. However, they managed to get over him and after a fast start for Heat managed to restrict Heat to 175. Jason Behrendorff was the pick of the bowler for the home side with two wickets and with the bat too Perth Scorchers started on a positive note. However, a casual approach costed Stephen Eskinazi his wicket and Bancroft and Hardie too could not last long. Turner though looked like a man on mission and got good support from Inglis as the duo stitched a crucial 80-run stand. However, Inglis and Turner departed in the same over and when Turner got out with still 39 needed off 19 balls it looked difficult for the defending champions. The young Connolly though stood up and Perth got 18 runs off the 18th over and then Hobson finished it off with couple of boundaries in the last over to take Perth Scorchers to their fifth BBL title.

WOW! What a final and what an atmosphere here in the Optus Stadium! The defending champions Perth Scorchers have done it again and really this game was truly worthy of being called a final of a fantastic compeititon like BBL. Let's take a moment though to salute the young man Cooper Connolly, he pulled off some spectacular hits when Perth Scorchers looked down and out with Turner gone and credit should also go to Nick Hobson who kept his composure after a terrible mix-up with his skipper and delivered a killer blow in the final over! This win clearly speaks of the depth of this Perth Scorchers side and they are the deserved winners of this 12th season of the Big Bash League.

Some bad news for Brisbane Heat! They are late on the clock and need to have one extra fielder inside the ring for the final over. 10 needed off the last over! Here we go...
