Right then, that is it from this low scoring thriller. The Oval Invincibles go on the top of the table with this victory! The Hundred 2024 action continues as we have a game lined up on Friday, the 9th of August. It will be between the London Spirit and the Manchester Originals. The game will begin at 11 pm IST (5.30 pm GMT). Do join us for the early build up as well. Until then, take care, and cheers!

Sam Curran is the Player of the Match. He says that these are huge points for them. Adds that there was rain around and they took god advantage of it. Adds that Cox batted well and he himself loves to bat as well. Ends by saying that each player is taking responsibility to win the game for them.

... THE PRESENTATION ...

Earlier in the match, Southern Brave scored 118/8 after recovering from an early slump at 31/4, thanks to captain James Vince's 52 runs. Tom Curran excelled with the ball for Oval Invincibles, taking 4 wickets for 24 runs. The bowling conditions favored bowlers, making it challenging for the batters.

The pacers with the new ball were brilliant! The likes of Overton, Jordan and Archer build the pressure and got their side back into the game. However, the spells from Mills and Hosein really cost their side. The two were very expensive and that’s not what they could afford defending a low score. They needed all their bowlers to perform and that was not the case. However, we just believe they did not have enough on the board, they were at least 15 to 20 runs short of what could have been a winning total.

A comfortable chase in the end by Oval Invincibles! It wasn’t all that comfortable though against the new ball. They lost one early and then Malan struggled to put bat on ball. Jordan Cox, however, was going at a decent click at one end but when Malan fell, Brave were on top. Then came the game defining innings and partnership between Curran and Cox. The former played the aggressor and the latter played second fiddle. In no time, they killed the game and won it.
