That's all from this game! Northern Warriors win another game in this tournament while the Gladiators slip further. They need to perform really well ahead if they want to make a comeback. On Wednesday, 3rd February 2021, we have another three games lined up for you starting with the clash between Bangla Tigers and Qalandars. All the action will start at 1600 local (1200 GMT). Norther Warriors skipper, Nicholas Pooran, says that they have a lot of young talent and they are taking the opportunity to win the game. States that they are very pleased with the performance.
Rovman Powell has been announced as the PLAYER OF THE MATCH.
The bowling from the Warriors was good at the start but they faltered in the middle overs when they were thrashed. Fabian Allen was the star as he sent the two set batsmen packing. The rest were expensive as they were punished. Wayne Parnell was tasked with handling the final over and he held his nerve well to help his side win by 3 runs.
The batting did not start off too well for the Gladiators as they lost Sunil Narine for a duck but then Azam Khan came out to join Mohammad Shahzad. Shahzad did not get much of a strike as Azam Khan hammered the bowlers to all parts of the ground. He scored a fine fifty before giving it away. Shahzad and Pollard fell soon after and it looked like the game will end with a big win for the Warriors but Anwar Ali showed tremendous fight and did not give up. He fought really hard and almost took the side home but it was not to be.
Excellent effort by the Gladiators but they have ended up short by 3 runs. Brilliant effort from Anwar Ali towards the end but he could not take his side home. The Northern Warriors have been on a roll since they lost their first game and continue to motor along now. Superb performance.
